Hello,

Any chance I could get from you an email address of someone in movie development at Dreamworks?

Some 45 [um, 65] years ago when I was eleven I saw a movie that had such a compelling pace parts of it are still with me. I believe the movie was the 1956 Columbia release starring William Bendix, "Battle Stations", built around the 3/19/45 [Japanese aircraft] attack on the carrier U.S.S. Franklin. It's not available in video, etc., so I can't just order it anywhere to satisfy my desire to see it again. Anyway, I think the film would rival "Private Ryan" if it were redone in the grand Spielberg manner, and it's a story of such great heroism that it deserves to be retold.

Thanks for your time, and all the best,

Battle Stations

Now available from a couple of sites including the "Film Collectors Society of America", so I bought a copy. What came looks like a computer-DVD, not a studio production copy, but the resolution is OK, possibly copied off a Verizon On Demand/Sony TV broadcast? I was 11 or 12 when I last saw it, young enough not to be bothered by the thin dialogue.

In thinking about it, I'm guessing that what really impressed me was the Navy footage of the Franklin interspersed with the movie's action scenes.
